Knowing more about your customers not only makes your communication at lot easier, it also means you can develop much stronger relationships.

How do you find out what they think?  You ask them!

By implementing an effective customer survey – by post, web based, by telephone or face to face you can find out what your customers think about your existing service, what you can improve on, what else they would like from you and maybe even get some great testimonials too.

Before you start, plan what it is you want to find out and prepare some questions.  Decide what medium will work best for your customer base and how and when you are going to start.  If you need some help then let us know.

You can also learn from what your competitors are doing.  How do they perform?  How do they treat their customers?  Are they doing better than you?  Remember your customers could be your competitors’ customers too.

One of my favourites to consider is mystery shopping.  You are probably confident of how good your customer service is, but you may be surprised!
