Check out our blog for hints, tips and news about all things marketing…
You’ve decided to start getting serious about your marketing, and you know using some great images will really help reinforce your messages.
The chances are you don’t have endless budget to employ a graphic designer, so what can you do?
The good news is that there are some great tools available online that are very easy to use and low cost.
PicMonkey is primarily a photo editing tool – a bit like Photoshop but without the price tag. It has become more sophisticated over time, and you can now even enhance faces with cosmetics and add funky effects like comics and Andy Warhol colour schemes.
We know, you can’t think when you might want that functionality, but you never know…
PicMonkey is fab for cropping and re-sizing images quickly – far quicker than full Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. You can even alter the lighting and other effects in your own images.
There are some great tutorials to guide you through how to make the most of different functions: PicMonkey Tutorials. Plus, there is a very helpful blog with more guides, as well as ideas they have shared on how different people have created images using the software. Check out the blog here: PicMonkey blog.
As well as editing images you can create basic designs from scratch, using the create function. There are tons of clever shapes, overlays, themes and frames you can incorporate.
Some of our blog images have been created using the great tools that are available.
They even offer seasonal themes such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Winter wonderland and Christmas. There are new ideas happening all the time so sign up for their emails to keep up to date with developments.
PicMonkey used to be free to use, but it is now chargeable.
There are various options, but the Basic one should be ample for most businesses. At the time revising this post, it is just under £78 per year, if you pay annually. Whilst that might not be free, it still offers very good value.
Next time, we are going to share another great resource with you, so keep looking out for the next post…
