Last time, we looked at PicMonkey – a great tool for editing and enhances photos and adding effects.
Today, we want to introduce you to Canva.
Canva is a super easy tool for creating stand out marketing images. They even have a great range of pre-set designs suitable for different uses: Twitter, Facebook, blogs, posters, flyers – to name just a few.
You can customise everything – using your own images, or choose from a fabulous range of images Canva offers. Some of these images are free, whilst some are chargeable.
There is a gorgeous range of fonts, and some very funky ideas for you to tailor and adapt images and create them from scratch to suit your business and messaging.
There is a version for the iPad as well as a desktop version. It’s well worth getting the tablet version, as it is very user friendly.

We also love the Design School feature. Canva takes you through a series of mini lessons so you learn design tips to enhance your skills, and improve your designs.
Their blog shares thought provoking information, as well as creative designs. There are how to articles, and marketing tips too.
Using the ideas from Canva you can produce some very professional looking effects – ideal for blog posts, where you want to keep costs to a minimum.
Of course, we’re not suggesting for a moment, Canva replaces the skills of a graphic designer. It absolutely doesn’t; and we still work very closely with our designer for projects. But sometimes, you want images for presentations, reports, internal documents, or to supplement your social media messages – in which case, Canva is ideal.
There is also a paid business version. What’s good about this version, is that you can save your branding rules, so it is quick to produce something, knowing you are using the correct fonts and colours.
Go and have a play. But beware – it can become addictive!
