Dawes Highway Safety

Dawes Highway Safety design and manufacture safety devices specifically to protect cyclists and pedestrians from serious or fatal injuries, when involved in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle.

THE CHALLENGE

We were approached in early 2016 to work with James Dawes, the Managing Director of Dawes Highway Safety. James’s background gave him the perfect experience to design road safety devices, as he is a former Metropolitan Police roads policing sergeant.

However, by his own admission, he had limited experience of the commercial environment, and no knowledge of marketing. He wanted someone to take away the pain and run his marketing for him.

He had already signed up to attend two large exhibitions, and wanted specific support for those, as well as pulling together a plan to market his business moving forward.

HOW WE SOLVED IT

We have been delivering our Virtual Marketing Director service for Dawes Highway since the beginning.

Initially, we worked with our web partners, Mass Media Design, to create a new website for Dawes – ensuring they had a strong online presence. This has been continuously developed as the business has grown, to ensure it is fit for purpose.

We created business stationery and marketing collateral to support the business.

An exhibition stand, giveaways for the shows and additional materials were sourced. We pulled together marketing campaigns to support the exhibitions.

We worked with our lead generation partners, GenLead, to support marketing campaigns and further promote the message.

We also liaise with the Dawes’ PR expert to ensure everything is on message.

We have been working very closely with James on many aspects of his business, not just his marketing. This includes supporting him in achieving his ISO9001 accreditation, and setting up distribution partners.

THE RESULTS

The company has a strong online presence, and regular media coverage.

From a start up business, they have now sold to one of the largest UK construction companies, and have an ongoing order to install systems as their fleet is renewed.

They have gained significant traction with many leading companies including a very large builders’ merchant, and several vehicle manufacturers. They are in discussion with a number of leading construction projects who wish to specify their products for all contractors.

They have been shortlisted and won a number of industry awards, in recognition of their achievements.

The company continues to grow.
