Emily's Inflight Services

Emily’s Inflight Catering Services deliver high end dining to the private aviation sector, predominantly at Farnborough airport, but they also service other airports based in the South East.

They have significant expertise in the Middle Eastern market, delivering cuisine created to specific religious specifications and dietary requirements.

They work with a number of very high profile celebrities and high net worth individuals, as well as corporates with private jets.

THE CHALLENGE

Traditionally, the business had grown through word of mouth. Whilst this was still effective, Robert Fry, the business owner, wanted to install a structured approach to marketing for the company.

There was no marketing expertise in house, and the company had operated without a marketing plan. Marketing activities had been sporadic and ad hoc in nature, with very little measurement and limited success.

The team were very busy focusing on delivering high quality dishes and wanted to hand marketing over to someone who would take responsibility for the whole process.

HOW WE SOLVED IT

Emily’s bought into our Virtual Marketing Director service, using two days per month.

We started off by evaluating their branding and website. We recommended tweaking the branding, and launching a completely new site, that was more in line with their high end client base.

We worked with a photographer to create some fantastic imagery to showcase their wonderful food. We were able to use these images across all of their marketing. We also worked closely with our designer, to deliver additional marketing collateral.

There was no database, so we created one, extracting data from previous orders. We set up an email marketing system and ran campaigns for them, featuring dishes that had been prepared.

We spoke to a number of their clients to understand what makes Emily’s special. This helped us to create the website content, but also resulted in some great testimonials for the business.

We established a credible social media presence for them. They had no presence on LinkedIn, where we established they could gain good contacts. We set up an account and grew contacts to in excess of 1200 in 6 months. We then marketed directly to those people to introduce the company.

We also worked with our lead generation partners, GenLead, to develop conversations with air crew and companies considering their choices for aviation catering.

THE RESULTS

The website provided the ideal credible platform for all of the marketing activities. We grew a substantial database for ongoing marketing.

All of the marketing campaigns we ran resulted in additional sales for the business.

In partnership with GenLead we were able to set up several conversations and meetings to discuss substantial corporate business.
