Riven Associates are an outsourced managed IT service provider. Their clients are typically SMEs based in the home counties across a range of sectors.
The business has significantly evolved from being box shifters, to being service driven – delivering real value for their clients. Their strapline – “Relevant IT” – is so appropriate and fits with their ethos of making IT work for, and enhance, the business, rather than the business being driven by IT.
The company has extended their business offering to include bespoke CRM, telephone and web/marketing services, as well as the more traditional IT services.
Initially, Riven wanted to improve enquiries through their website. They didn’t have any existing in house marketing expertise, and were interested in outsourcing.
Although they had an ideal client profile, they didn’t formally record client feedback, or truly understand why clients bought from them.
In a very crowded market, Riven wanted to shine through as different – not just another IT support company. They were keen to come over as approachable and friendly, and yet reassuring, so prospects knew their IT would be in safe hands.
They wanted a professional and strong online presence, and consistent approach to marketing – driving qualified leads into the business.
Initially, we identified the existing content was not in harmony with their core message of being “geek free”, so this was all re-written in conjunction with a refresh of their website.
Having identified there was no capture of client feedback, we set up a client insight project, with our strategic partners – Third Bounce. The results were very powerful, and reinforced just how much their expertise was valued.
As the business moved forward, it was clear their existing branding and website look was no longer relevant. So we worked through a complete rebrand of the business including a new website.
On an ongoing basis, Riven have bought into the Virtual Marketing Director service. We handle all of their marketing as an outsourced marketing department including managing telemarketing, blogging and email campaigns, and working with some of their key partners on specific projects.
The client insight project created new sales for the business, whilst also providing fantastic feedback on Riven’s strengths.
Riven now have a refined client profile, enabling them to be very targeted throughout the sales and marketing process.
The website not only generates enquiries, but traffic has increased, demonstrating they are being reviewed as part of the process when considering them as a provider. Sales have grown year on year too.
Marketing is now a smooth, ongoing process, enabling the directors to focus their efforts on other aspects of the business. They are so pleased with the service Bang provides they also recommend us to their own clients, and are now promoting our services – marketing as a service.

Since working with Bang, I know our marketing is in safe hands. I have regular access to Nicky and talk through ideas, and then she and the team make them happen. They manage relationships with third parties, and ensure everything is delivered within the parameters we have agreed.
Whilst we hadn’t planned a rebrand, Nicky managed to persuade me it was a good idea, and I’m so pleased we did it. The branding, the website and the collateral have all really moved us forward, and made us a really credible business in our space.
