Seccombe are independent builders’ merchants operating from Isleworth. It is a family run business serving the building trade, and the general public.

The business faces a lot of competition from the larger merchant chains, DIY stores and online offerings. The Managing Director, John Seccombe, used to handle the marketing, but has struggled to maintain regular activities whilst handling all the other aspects of running the business.

Just before they spoke to us, they had invested in back office software enabling them to maintain stock levels, order materials, price and invoice more effectively. This system had built in eCommerce functionality, which John was keen to harness, but recognised it needed a more attractive frontend, to achieve user engagement.

The existing website had been in place for some time, and was not attracting the visitors they hoped for, and neither had it driven sales.

They were also looking for ongoing marketing support, to help them grow the business, and compete against the larger merchant groups.

They have received excellent feedback on their website, and report that it has helped them to overcome the perception that they are more expensive than their competitors.

We believe the business has so much more potential to grow, and we are enjoying being part of that growth, working directly with them and their suppliers to achieve success.
